The Philippines does not recognize Taiwan’s vaccination certificate The KMT: The Tsai government must explain.
In response to media reports that the Philippines does not recognize Taiwan’s international vaccination certificate, people still need to quarantine at their own expense when entering the Philippines, the KMT spokesman Chang Sigang said today that the Philippines does not recognize Taiwan’s vaccination record, which is once again proof that the Tsai government’s vaccine policy does not allow people to travel out of Taiwan!
Media reports allege that Taiwan businessmen denounced the deception of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Taiwan’s representative office in the Philippines, saying to the outside world that the international vaccination certificate is recognized. The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for example, states that there is no need for quarantine for the entry of persons that are fully vaccinated, but in fact, people who go to the Philippines still need to quarantine at their own expense!
Mr. Chang said the Philippines has never recognized Taiwan’s vaccination record; however, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has misled Taiwan businessmen, and even brushed aside the problem as a misinterpretation by Philippine officials. Whether it is Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry that is not clear about the situation, or if Taiwan is being played by the Philippines? The Tsai government must explain, do not mess around even over the most basic information. It’s embarrassing!
Mr. Chang emphasized that the Tsai government hyped up how successful the new southbound policy was, but it could not even assure recognition of Taiwan’s basic vaccination certificate, which shows that the Tsai government does not have the confidence of Southeast Asian countries. Even with the frequent unofficial exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines, it was not possible to obtain simple recognition, and Taiwan’s representative office in the Philippines was obviously derelict in its duties!
