On May 18th, local time, Yu-Chua Huang, deputy representative of the KMT in the United States, visited the Chinese Association of Luo Province and various overseas Chinese groups in Southern Californin, and went to the bronze statue to pay tribute to the father of the nation, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, laying flowers and bowing three times. The scene was warm, and the ceremony was solemn and grand.
In his speech, Eric Huang said that he was moved to see the national flag of the Republic of China flying outside the guild hall, which symbolized that overseas Chinese are the mother of the revolution, and this history was inseparable from the founding of the first democratic republic in East Asia by Sun Yat-sen and the KMT. First off, he thanked the Chinese Association of Luo Province and the overseas Chinese leaders for their reception, and explained the news that Eric Chu, chairman of the KMT, would visit Los Angeles in early June.
Yu-Chua Huang also expressed his deep condolences over the recent shooting incident at the Taiwan Presbyterian Church in Irvine, Southern California, USA, saying that this is not an issue of political ideology, but hatred and violence that must be condemned. I hope that similar violence will never happen again in the future. He expressed admiration for Dr. Zheng, who sacrificed his life to save lives, and hoped that the victims of the Southern California shooting incident rest up in peace and that the families of the victims are safe.
Kwong Song-ling, Chairman of the Chinese Association of Luo Province, first welcomed the Yu-Chua Huang visit, and looked forward to Chairman Eric Chu’s visit to Los Angeles. He said that the association had a history of 133 years before the founding of the Republic of China. The founder of the ROC was running the revolution and visited Los Angeles four times. The guild hall adheres to the practice of the founding father’s philosophy of freedom and democracy, and supports the Republic of China.
