The Party’s representative office in the United States has completed the necessary legal registration procedure a few days ago and will be officially unveiled to the public in the near future. Chairman Eric Chu officially announced in the meeting of the Central Standing Committee today that the party’s Representative to the United States will be concurrently served by Professor Alexander Huang, Director of the Department of International Affairs, and the post of Deputy Representative will be concurrently held by Yu-Chun Huang, Deputy Director of the Department of International Affairs.

Director Alexander Huang had lived in Washington for 15 years and had served in the Republic of China’s representative office in the United States and think tanks in Washington, DC, with a comprehensive and impressive resume. He is also an expert in ROC’s national defense, military strategy, and cross-strait relations.

Deputy Director Yu-Chun Huang is part of the younger generation of his party’s foreign affairs team and has been deeply involved in foreign affairs and US affairs for many years. Previously, under the direction of Chairman Chu, Vice deputy Yu-Chun Huang went to the United States to handle the preparations for the representative office in the United States; and within two months, he accomplished the tasks and successfully opened the first representative office solely for the party in the United States since the founding of the KMT.

Chairman Chu stressed he would like to thank Deputy Director Yu-Chun Huang for completing the preparatory work, and commanded his effort. In the future, Deputy Yu-Chun Huang will be stationed in the United States and will be responsible for designing our policy towards our American partners.

After the personnel announcement in the United States, Yu-Chua Huang will return to the United States as soon as possible and will first handle Chairman Zhu’s visit to the United States. The trip to the United States will visit high-level US officials such as the US State Department, Congress, and the White House, as well as visit think tanks and overseas compatriots associations, and hold public speeches at well-known universities.

The official return of the KMT to the United States will make positive contributions to the sustainable development of Taiwan, peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and the improvement of bilateral relations between Taiwan and the United States.
