KMT Chairman Eric Chu is scheduled to leave for the United States tomorrow morning, and today (1st) at the KMT central committee regular meeting, he said that this trip will visit the political and academic circles in the United States, as well as the party members and overseas Chinese circles in four major cities, with the purpose of telling all circles in the United States that “the KMT is back.” Chairman Chu particularly stressed: This visit is not only for the KMT, but also for the sake of Taiwan and the security of the Taiwan Strait, and we must let everyone see that the KMT is a responsible opposition party.

Eric Chu pointed out that in the KMT’s slogan of “Protecting Taiwan, Safeguarding Democracy, and Striving for the Future,” “Protecting Taiwan” means protecting the Republic of China and Taiwan, while “Safeguarding Democracy” means protecting our democratic freedoms and upholding human rights. The KMT hopes to use such a concept not only to let Taiwan’s democracy move forward, but also to forbid it to be undermined by one party or a small number of people and to uphold our democratic freedom and deepen Taiwan’s democracy.

Eric Chu said: The DPP has long slandered the KMT overseas as anti-US and as hating the United States, but the KMT’s return to Washington will tell friends in the United States and the whole world that the KMT’s basic stand is that it is a political party that defends Taiwan, upholds democracy and freedom, and that the KMT will walk together with democratic countries all over the world and fight together for the economy, the future, and the security of the Taiwan Strait.

Eric Chu also mentioned that upholding democracy and freedom, deepening Taiwan’s democracy, and striving for a stable and prosperous future are also the common goals of every county and city in the KMT’s elections at the end of the year.
