The KMT held an activity to welcome those joining the party this morning with former legislator Hsu Hsin-ying and a hundred young people. Chairman Eric Chu personally welcomed them to the party. Chairman Chu said: Unlike the DPP today, the KMT does not have money, power, and official positions, and the KMT has only ambition and the determination to love Taiwan and work hard for Taiwan. He stressed: At present, when the KMT is in its most difficult time, those who are willing to join the party are friends who have the most ambition and determination to love this land. The KMT welcomes everyone to join us and work together.
In his speech, Chairman Chu, on behalf of the KMT, sincerely welcomed Hsu Hsin-ying and a hundred young people in joining the party. Chairman Chu pointed out that Hsu Hsin-ying used to serve as a member of the Hsinchu County Council as a legislator, and her performance is exemplary to all. Hsu is also a scholar and has excellent professional talent. Some people misrepresented that she returned to the KMT for the election at the end of the year, and there was no such thing! Hsu Hsin-ying returned to the KMT at the hardest time for the party, which shows that she upheld the spirit of being willing to work hard for the ideals of the KMT.
Hsu Hsin-ying pointed out that when the KMT was in the most challenging position, she returned to the party to help, hoping to make Taiwan’s opposition stronger, so that the people of Taiwan would not be hurt by the dominance of one party, and, more importantly, that there should be no military conflict or accidents in the Taiwan Strait. She also said that Taiwan cannot afford a war of attrition, and that Taiwan needs more stable forces, so that everyone can work together to bring a better and more positive future for Taiwan.
Li Mei, a youth representative, pointed out that politics is the business of managing the people, but that the current political environment in Taiwan is full of ideological confrontations. In addition, the war between Ukraine and Russia has made everyone see the ruthlessness of the war, and young people deeply feel their responsibility to the country and do not want to see the next war happen in our homeland, so cross-strait peaceful exchanges are extremely important. The KMT has always maintained an open attitude toward cross-strait policy, which is the main reason why young people are standing up today. Young people should strive to make peace on both sides of the strait and make the people’s lives better. Therefore, this group is willing to join the KMT and become a force for reform, so that the power of youth can change Taiwan.
