Coinciding with the birthday of the late President Chiang Ching-kuo, the KMT has set up a “Ching-kuo Memorial Wall” at the KMT HQ to showcase his efforts in public service and his dedication to the country through historical photos of his ‘footprints’ throughout Taiwan.

The “Ching-kuo Memorial Wall” is designed with a blue image, displaying the footprints of his hard work throughout Taiwan, including photos like his inspection of the Central Cross-island Highway in 1954, as well as the construction of the Taichung Port in 1975 and the Hsinchu Science Industrial Park. It also shows Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo’s warm greetings to the public, and his relaxed and joyful exchanges with the people.

The KMT emphasized that late President Chiang was the founder of Taiwan’s modernization and had a profound influence on national defense, economy, and democracy. His boldness and efforts in pushing forward the Ten Major Construction Projects, promoting ethnic Taiwanese officials, and the lifting of the martial law are still remembered by many. He has been the most popular and most missed president of all time.

Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo’s efforts show that “minor things of the people are major tasks of the government”, his guileless style of being close to the people and loving them has been widely remembered. KMT Chairman Eric Chu also emphasized that “Chiang Ching-kuo’s route is the KMT’s route”. The KMT will continue with the spirit of Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo, keep paying attention to all issues of people’s livelihoods, and to speak out for the people.
